Dear {Politician voted into office},
I am opposed to
the recent tax plan that has been proposed by the GOP. This plan is one of the
largest tax giveaways we have seen to high earners and big business in modern
history and provides minimal –if any – benefit for low-to moderate earners.
This plan is especially dangerous, because it will increase our deficit by $1.5
trillion, fueling the incessant narrative that we don’t have the necessary
revenue for essential supports like Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, or Pell Grants.
Passing this plan is a gateway to deep cuts to the human services.
I hope you will
join me in sharing your discontent with the proposed plan with your vote.
Kicking people who are down is not the best way forward for our great nation.
Providing accessibility to programs that assist them in earning a living wage
is the only way we ALL can do better--not just the elite income earners.
Thank you for
your attention in this matter. Please don't let people who have so little bear
the brunt of the greed of those with so much.
